Hi! I'm Mary Gutierrez, owner of the branding studio Intrinsic Maven in San Diego, and I'm passionate about jiu jitsu. Our small but unique team of three brings a personal touch to everything we do. I know control is everything—it's the key to mastering The Gentle Art. I bring this mindset into my work at Intrinsic Maven, where we love creating clean, unique, high-quality designs and content that capture the essence of jiu jitsu's discipline, culture, and philosophy
Jiu jitsu is a big part of my family's life we're at the gym most days of the week. My son started training in 2015 and I started in 2017, unfortunately, I got injured and only came back 2 years ago. My son is now 15 and rolling with adults and after 9 years of training still loves it. I received my blue belt recently and it was a great moment to share with him, especially in my CTRL gi.
I love the CTRL Industries brand for its great fit, quality, and style. Finding a gi that fits well on women particularly has been tough, and CTRL's designs have never gone wrong. Today I received an email saying my TRADIÇÃO - Comp 380 Flag gi is in process which I'm looking forward to receiving.
I've always dreamed of working with a jiu jitsu brand that shares our values. It's exciting to think about collaborating with Ctrl Industries to highlight its commitment to jiu jitsu.
