From the Maven Diary

Stories, reflections, and behind-the-scenes moments from the people who bring Intrinsic Maven to life.

A systems-minded designer finding balance between structure, storytelling and soul

Duy doesn't just design - he builds. This entry offers a glimpse into his process, from translating strategy into visuals to balancing clean structure with unexpected creative details. Get to know the mind behind our studio's illustrations, icons, and most distinctive brand expressions.

Hi, I’m Duy — the illustrator and visual systems thinker behind many of our brand expressions at Intrinsic Maven.

My role is all about bridging structure with creativity. I specialize in taking complex ideas and turning them into visuals that are clean, intentional, and full of meaning. Whether I’m crafting illustrations, designing icon systems, or refining brand presentations, I’m always thinking about how to build a visual language that holds both form and function.

My favorite part of the process is translating strategy into something tangible — making sure what we create doesn’t just look good, but works deeply for the brand.

Outside of studio work, I spend a lot of time building my own custom Lego sets (yes, I design them from scratch), diving into 3D design, and getting lost in the surreal storytelling of anime and H.P. Lovecraft. I’m also a proud U.S. Army veteran, and that experience has shaped the way I approach design — with discipline, clarity, and purpose.

I don't just design - I build visual systems that make a brand feel like it belongs.
